The provisions under the new European Union privacy law approved by a European Parliament committee include fines up to 100 million Euros or 5% of turnover (http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_MEMO-14-186_en.htm ). If a significant data breach occurs then having a good defence might prove prudent. So being able to say “We have implemented the best mutual, multi-factor Authentication Technology available” is useful and might also be a good argument to against your company’s Brokers to reduce Insurance premiums.

However, there is a fly in this ointment. It won’t be useful to say you have been using a strong authentication system that has inherent weaknesses or one that has been conspicuously compromised (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/03/18/rsa_breach_leaks_securid_data/ ).

Likewise, an Authentication System that can be broken by a privileged Insider will not withstand basic cross examination. However, CASQUE SNR (www.casque.co.uk) can sustain the defence against the most hostile and mocking prosecution Barrister!
